Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) is a large hospital in the town of Leiden in the Netherlands. The hospital has a large history as it has been running as a part of the famous Leiden University since 1575. With grounds spanning over 260,000m2, the hospital has areas which specialise in research, education and patient care.
The hospital employs more than 8800 people, working in a variety of different departments including neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, intensive care, paediatric oncology and rheumatology.
