Fire Rated Putty Pad is an easy to fit, fire and sound rated sealant supplied as non-setting putty. It is designed to maintain the fire resistance of gypsum walls that are breached by electrical switches and sockets.
When electrical sockets and switches are installed in dry lining partitions, the original fire rating of the partition is compromised. Fitting FR Putty Pad will reinstate the fire rating of the partition for up to 2 hours (depending on the partition fire rating), preventing the passage of smoke and flames in a fire and also preventing sound and air movement during service life, through the electrical socket into the cavity.
FR Putty Pad can be fitted inside or outside of the socket or wall box and in a fire, it forms a robust fire resistant char that prevents burn through at the location of electrical or pipe penetrations.
